Joining a Local Church Summer School
現地のサマースクールに参加
One of the highlights of our trip was joining a local church summer school. Our kids played, learned, and made new friends with American children while using English throughout the day. It was a wonderful opportunity to experience American culture and put their English skills into practice in a real-life setting.
今回の旅の大きなハイライトの一つが、現地の教会が開催するサマースクールへの参加でした。現地の子どもたちと一緒に遊び、学び、新しい友達を作りながら、一日を通して英語を使いました。アメリカの文化を体験し、これまで身につけてきた英語を実際のコミュニケーションの中で使う、とても貴重な機会となりました。
University Campus Tour
大学キャンパスツアー
We also toured a California university campus. The wide-open spaces, impressive libraries, and lively student atmosphere sparked the kids’ imaginations. For the first time, they could picture what it might feel like to study abroad in the future.
「日本とは異なるキャンパスの雰囲気を感じて、世界で学ぶことを夢見てほしい」そんな思いで今回の旅に組み込んだ大学キャンパスツアー。大学内の図書館、教室、カフェテリア、そして中でもサイエンス学科のツアーに大興奮の子どもたち。
キャンパスツアーの終わりに、 “I want to study abroad! - 僕、留学してみたい！” という子どもたちの感想を聞いた時は、スタッフも感動！
日本国内に限らず、世界に目を向けてほしい！そんな思いが子どもたちに経験を通して伝わったことをとても嬉しく思います。
The Joke Stand

One of the fun activities at the summer school was the Joke Stand! Our kids had the chance to share their favorite jokes in English and make the other kids laugh. It was a fun way to practice speaking English, build confidence, and connect with new friends.
サマースクールで子どもたちが楽しんだアクティビティの一つ「ジョークスタンド」！ 現地の子どもたちと英語で自分の好きなジョークを披露するスタンドアップコメディー。普段は経験することの出来ない、The 実践パブリックスピーキング！自信をつけ、新しい友達と仲を深める素敵な時間となりました。
Dodgers Game
ドジャース観戦
One of the most exciting moments of our California trip was watching a Dodgers game at Dodger Stadium! The kids experienced the energy of an American baseball game, cheered for the team, and enjoyed the atmosphere together. It was a fun and unforgettable taste of American sports culture.
今年もドジャースの試合を観戦する事ができました！ドジャースタジアムで本場の野球観戦を体験し、みんなで応援しながらアメリカのスポーツ文化を楽しみました。そしてなんと、初回から大谷選手のホームランも見ることができて忘れられない思い出の一つとなりました。
Fire Station Tour

One of the memorable experiences during our California trip was visiting a local fire station! The kids got to see real fire trucks, learn about firefighters’ work, and experience a little of American community life.
現地の消防署の見学ツアー！実際の消防車を見たり、本場のファイヤーファイター＆レスキューチームの仕事について学んだりと、貴重なツアーになりました。

Our California trip was filled with real-world experiences beyond the classroom. From visiting a college campus and exploring a fire station to enjoying an MLB game and performing at a comedy club, the kids experienced American culture firsthand while using English along the way.
カリフォルニアでは、教室を飛び出してさまざまな本物の体験を楽しみました。大学キャンパスや消防署を見学したり、MLBの試合を観戦したり、コメディクラブのステージに立ったり。どれも英語を使いながら、普段日本の教室の中にいては体験することのできない、生きた学びと異国の文化を肌で感じる貴重な経験となりました！この経験を通して子どもたちが、世界に目を向けるきっかけになってくれると嬉しいです。
